The full range of Broc Cellars‘ unique portfolio of California wines are wrapped in the equally singular drawings and graphics of artist Marta Johansen. Johansen’s light touch and minimal aesthetic match perfectly with Broc’s wines, which themselves are the result of very little intervention and “an effort to let the grapes speak for themselves.”

Broc Cellars Love White

We recently enjoyed a bottle of Broc’s Love White – a Southern Rhone-inspired cuveé that features a dense line drawing by Johansen that is complemented by the bottle’s lack of a foil capsule at its top. It’s refreshing to see thoughtfulness at this level in wine packaging, where most “bold” design is employed only to get a second glance from a consumer staring at a shelf of anonymous bottles. The harmony that Broc and Johansen have achieved is rare a and collectors should give these wines – and their impressive labels – a closer look.
