Textbook Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve du Dumas 2019
This dreamy new release captures your attention from the start with a velvety-rich & creamy texture, a result of the glorious integration of underlying oak. In fact, the 2019 Reserve bottling is the most deliciously age-worthy Textbook we’ve sampled as it reminds us of opulent favorites trading for $200-$300 per bottle. This barrel sample already displays sublime dark fruit notes with a substantial “Yummy”** factor that has us begging for more. Similar to past vintages of this rare gem (total production just a single barrel!) dazzles with dark plum, blackberry, baking spices, espresso beans, and hints of cocoa on the finish that crescendos with creamy vanilla extract. Thanks to an awe-inspiring texture and integration of flavors, this relative bargain may be enjoyed tonight (decant ½ hour) and merits a 97+ rating now and at least 98 points after a few years of cellar time.
