Plinth Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019
A seductive nose of plums, black cherries and graphite. Beautifully seamless texture with black cherry soda, cinnamon and clove flavors on the palate with a refreshingly subtle, yet elegant touch of mint and lavender on the long finish. This is a racy wine that savvy collectors will want to look out for. Enjoy now (after decanting) through 2028. – December 2022
Plinth Winery
The ultra-boutique production Plinth Cabernet 2019 is a blend of sumptuous grapes from two private sources in the most prized, “high rent” districts in Napa: Pritchard Hill and the heart of Oakville between Screaming Eagle and Harlan. Our hottest new Cult Cabernet discovery this decade, Nine Suns, has embarked on an extremely limited passion project that combines Nine Suns’ prized Pritchard Hill Estate fruit - - next door to Colgin - - and a “too good to be true” Napa Valley fruit source in the heart of Oakville. That transaction was so hush-hush the winery was sworn to secrecy but we have a strong hypothesis {call for details.} I thought of you as Plinth reminds me of our mutual favorite Cabernets such as Continuum and Ovid, combined with the luscious dark fruit of Beckstoffer To-Kalon winners.
