Morlet La Proportion Doree 2012
Luc Morlet just goes from strength to strength. This wine, modeled after the great white wines of Bordeaux, has an intense bouquet of lemon, citrus, and wild honey. The texture is absolutely mind-boggling: silky smooth and packed with an underlying complexity that shows itself after being left to breathe. The fruit is ultra-pure, sweet tangerines, ripe citrus, and apricot with honeysuckle and a charming minerality. While this will cellar for another 5-7 years, there’s no good reason not to drink it tonight.
