Martinelli Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge 2011
Nearly impossible to find, unless you’ve been buying from the winery’s mailing list for years, this sexy, full-throttle Pinot Noir is sourced from Blue Slide Ridge, a tiny cliffside vineyard planted by legendary winemaker Helen Turley, and formerly bottled under her celebrated cult Pinot label, Marcassin. Delicate, complex aromatics wtih a luxurious richness on the palate. 97 points.
Martinelli Winery
The primary goal of Martinelli Winery has always been hand-crafting quality wines that are born in their estate vineyards. The grapes come from estate grown fruit, allowing them to use only their favorite blocks for each vineyard designated wine. They also try to maintain a sense of consistency with each vintage, while still allowing the true nature of the vineyard to shine through. These wines are limited production and each vineyard is hand farmed very carefully, producing only the finest quality fruit.
