Goldeneye Pinot Noir Ten Degrees 2019

Soaring out of the glass with perfumed, fresh fruit aromatics, this showstopper captures the depth and complexity found exclusively in the most luxurious Pinots in America (a short list!). The palate features an array of intense dark fruit flavors including cranberry, chocolate-covered cherry, toasty oak, and truffle. The deftly balanced finish offers hints of smoky tobacco and creamy oak notes. Enjoy this sophisticated offering now (after decanting) or anytime through 2029. This is Goldeneye’s most impressive Ten Degrees reserve to date. Bravo!” – July, 2022

Goldeneye Winery

Goldeneye Winery was founded in 1996, years before the Pinot Noir boom that has
reshaped the landscape of California winemaking. But the genesis for Goldeneye goes
back even further. In 1990, after fifteen years of making world-class Bordeaux-varietal
wines, Dan and Margaret Duckhorn embraced their growing love of Pinot Noir. Their
vision for Goldeneye was simple, though not easy. They wanted to found a winery that
could make a terroir-inspired expression of California Pinot Noir of equal stature to the
acclaimed Merlots they had pioneered at Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley.
Over the next six years, Dan, Margaret and Alex Ryan (who today is CEO and president
of Duckhorn Wine Company), explored the potential of fruit from numerous regions,
including the Russian River Valley, Sonoma and Carneros. They found what they were
looking for in the Anderson Valley.

Over the last decade, Goldeneye has attained “gold standard”
collector Pinot status because of their consistently superb quality. Goldeneye “Anderson
Valley” is always one of our best-selling Pinots annually here at Porthos. “Insider” scoop
is Goldeneye also produce rare, reserve level Pinot Noirs in their finest vintages that are
normally “winery only.” Gowan Creek is Goldeneye’s home property Estate bottling
while Ten Degrees Reserve is a special blend of this esteemed winery’s best-of-the-best
ten barrels.
