E16 Pinot Noir Bowland Ranch 2012
The bouquet is a panoply of spice, dark fruit, and violets. Give this Pinot 20 minutes to decant and you’ll be rewarded with a delightful Pinot experience, boasting a striking mix of wild raspberry, creamy strawberry and plum, mixed with toasty graham cracker. This wine is full of big rich fruit that is both intense and polished. Simply gorgeous now, it will be no surprise if it continues to evolve over the next 7 years.
E16 Winery
E16 Wine Company takes its name from 3rd generation winegrower Robert Jones' original estate vineyard located off Highway E16 in El Dorado. Twenty years ago, Robert took a path less traveled and developed a mountain vineyard in the rugged wine country that would become the up-and-coming Fairplay appellation.
Today, Robert forges E16 Wines beyond Fairplay to secure select blocks of the most sought after vineyards in California with one purpose- illuminating terroir. Stylistically, we are looking for wines that exemplify the provenance of their individual regions with a production philosophy that relies on low input, Old World techniques across three brands- E16, FIREFALL and V.
We produce our wines in a state of the art facility in Sebastopol, at the heart of the Russian River Valley. Geared toward ultimate small batch control. Ultimately, it is the winemaker's attention to minute details of the process that nets the expression of style and place you enjoy in our offerings. - E16
