Domaine Pellé Menetou-Salon Les Blanchais 2012
Classic notes of lemon zest lead to a vibrant, electrifying palate. With hints of florality and limestone in the bouquet, vibrant notes of refreshing citrus fruits (lime and juicy grapefruit) delight the palate and will shine with a wide array of menus. The patient collector will be amazed at what this wine is going to turn into over the next 6-8 years.
Domaine Pellé Winery
Domaine Pelle aims to express the various rich terroirs with which they're surrounded. The goal is to obtain high quality fruit, harvested at full maturity. The work of separating the terroirs makes little sense without precision work carried out in the vineyards.
All plots sit on clay-limestone bases, Kimmeridgian marls to be precise. The region has a continental climate and plots are located at around 300 metros altitude in the Menetou-Salon district and as high as 350 metros on the Morogues slopes.
The vines are checked every day to determine what work they need to do to draw out the mineral diversity of the vineyards. There are no 'routine' operations, each is designed to help the vine extract and nourish itself with the qualities and specific characteristics of the soil.
This meticulous work in the vineyards grows much more than the grapes' varietal aromas. The grapes, harvested at optimum maturity, also express all the richness of the soil and climate in which they grew.
