Domaine Albert Joly Puligny Montrachet Les Charmes 2020
This brand new import is a truly sensational example of silky smooth Puligny Montrachet at an astonishing price from a universally celebrated vintage such as 2020. This nectar displays a golden combination of crisp and elegant minerality with exhilarating fruit flavors including Meyer lemon, nectarines, fresh coconut, grilled pineapple and even hints of freshly baked croissant on the savory finish. Highly recommended for quaffing now through 2028. – August 2022
Domaine Albert Joly Winery
Albert Joly is one of our favorite under-the-radar vigneron in Burgundy. Joly is a
celebrated grape-grower selling to other Domaine that garner lofty ratings (and prices).
Now, Joly keeps several of his favorite vines for his eponymous bottling, albeit in
microproduction levels. Savvy Burgundy connoisseurs seek out Les Tremblots for its
proximity to the Grand Cru Bâtard Montrachet vineyard which commands $500 -
$1000 per bottle each vintage.
Sylvie Prevot-Joly took over the estate from her father Albert in 2007, and started estate
bottling at that time. Working together with her brother-in-law Gilles, she still sells 80-
85% of her fruit to negociants, so the production under the Joly label is quite limited.
