Cresta Velia Cabernet Sauvignon Eagle Summit 2010
Ripe, red and blue berry fruit is highlighted by spice and crushed violets. The palate is dense and the aromatics intoxicating. A serious effort by a serious winemaker. Enjoy tonight with some decanting or hang onto it for another 7-9 years.
Cresta Velia Winery
John Giannini is the passionate winemaker behind Cresta Velia wines. His first professional career as an accomplished chef helped to shape his palate and passion for wine. In the years proceeding, John followed his passion into the cellars at Outpost winery. As assistant winemaker for Thomas Brown, John quite literally has his hands in some of the most sought after wines in the U.S. When an opportunity came about to buy grapes from Eagle Summit, a beautifully farmed, hillside vineyard on Howell Mountain, John dove in and began a labor of love. Each vintage a small amount of perfectly ripened fruit is hand sorted and carefully crafted into the stunning Cabernet Sauvignon known as Cresta Velia, named for John's family.
