Continuum Cabernet Blend Novicium 2019
The 2019 edition of Continuum ‘Novicium’ contains a significantly higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon (compared to the Estate bottling) and vividly displays why the fruit from their Pritchard Hill Estate is coveted by collectors world-wide. This rare treasure delivers a luxuriously smooth combination of bold and rich dark fruit & delightfully fresh tannins that provide sublime enjoyment now and bode well for pleasure for at least another decade. Aromas of red velvet cake and cherry pie lead to notes of blackberry, cola, dark cherry, plum, pipe tobacco, chunky dark chocolate and caramel. We recommend decanting prior to 2024 and predict this age-worthy gem will continue to thrill through 2032. Bravo!
Continuum Winery
Four generations of the Mondavi family have grown and produced wines among the
world’s finest. Cesare Mondavi was the first to bring wine to the table but it was his son
Robert’s passion for excellence, which inspired both his family and the world. Tim and
Marcia Mondavi, along with their children, maintain this continuum of excellence,
innovation and tradition at their estate, high on Pritchard Hill.
Tim Mondavi is the winegrower, visionary and creative force behind all aspects of
Continuum Estate. He has devoted his life’s work and passion to enhancing the art of
wine. In 1974, armed with a degree from UC Davis in viticulture & enology Tim joined
the winemaking team at Robert Mondavi Winery. It was there Tim guided wine research
programs, led the development of Napa’s Appellation system and mentored many wine
makers over the years. His first-hand experience in winegrowing extends to Italy, Chile,
Australia and France where Tim developed, or was an integral part of, a number of
luxury wines including Opus One in Napa, Ornellaia and Luce in Italy, and Sena in
Chile.
