Continuum Cabernet Blend 2019
The new Continuum Estate 2019 is another awe-inspiring masterpiece from this legendary Napa craftsman. The cashmere-like texture reminds us of the best Harlan and Hundred Acre releases that we’ve sampled while the age-worthy elegance is more akin to a first growth Bordeaux. Intensely satisfying hints of inky dark fruit (currants, plums, blackberry) combine with opulent notes of exotic baking spices (nutmeg, cinnamon). The 60 second finish includes statuesque tannins balanced with prodigious, creamy new oak and hints of Cohiba cigar plus espresso. Enjoy the ride as this thoroughbred will provide thrills now (decanting recommended prior to 2026) through 2030. This beauty is built like a skyscraper, worthy of a 99+point rating tonight, and well on the way to 100-point perfection after just a few years of cellar time. Bravo! – January 2023
Continuum Winery
Over a decade ago, industry insiders predicted that the Mondavi family’s
new Continuum project would become “The Next OPUS ONE” and now Continuum is
even more highly allocated than Opus due to burgeoning demand worldwide.
From our Friends at Continuum: "2019 Continuum is a singularly significant vintage
marking our family’s 100th harvest in wine.
A family journey in wine that has taken many forms, but step by step, generation by generation, is marked by a forward pursuit
of excellence in wine. Humble beginnings in grape shipping has led to an elevated and
global perspective of fine wine cultivated at Robert Mondavi Winery and through
partnerships around the world that included Opus One. This elevated experience in fine
wine grows even deeper today with Continuum, where a spirit of experimentation and
innovation and research inform their commitment to fine wine. Continuum is the
highest attainment of their dream - to have a family owned, terroir driven, estate grown,
wine.
