Cabaud Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Hommage Napa 2010
A big, intense and serious Cabernet, full of black cherry, blueberry, hoisen and bittersweet chocolate on the nose. On the palate this wine exudes class and sophistication with its rich and full bodied profile. Perfectly balanced with red and black fruit flavors along with blond tobacco, creme de cassis and cedar lead to soft tannins that linger long into the finish. Hard to put down.
Cabaud Winery
Winemaker Luc Morlet was born in France, but has become known in California for his work at Peter Michael Winery, Newton, Staglin Family Vineyard and Cabaud Wines. He started Morlet Family Vineyards, his first solo project, in 2006 with his wife, Jodie. Passionate for both the expression of the various California terroirs, as well as the continuous pursuit of the ultimate quality, Luc calls his winemaking philosophy "neo- classical laissez-faire without compromise." His is a non-interventionist winemaking style driven by an ongoing search for quality improvement. With over two decades of vintages under his belt (he worked 9 years in France, before coming to California), and with his own zest for innovation, Luc uses century old principles and classic Burgundy and Bordeaux methods, while adapting to California's natural conditions.
