Ampere Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Showing blueberry, blackberry, and cinnamon on the nose, this Cab expresses itself through classic mountain terroir. It is red-fruit driven with opulent ripe, red cherry, white pepper, clove, baking spice and espresso. This little beauty is ready to drink now and should cellar well for up to 6 years.
Ampere Winery
Pine Mountain Vineyards is 100 point winemaker Thomas Brown's newest project. It also happens to be located in the newest AVA in California, Pine Mountain-Coverdale Peak, just north of Alexander Valley. The vineyard is planted at 2400 feet and produces bunches with tiny berries and massive concentration. Brown, no stranger to mountain terrain (Outpost) has applied his winemaking talents to this intensely flavored fruit and crafted a Cab well worth seeking out. It is one of a very few wines he makes that comes in under $75.
