Altamura Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2008
After aging for two years on new French oak and then an additional three years of bottle age (in the winery’s cellars), Altamura’s 2008 Sauvignon Blanc possesses more voluptuous texture and deep complexity of enticing fruit flavors than virtually any other Sauvignon Blanc (not to mention Chardonnays) in the world. This exuberant white wine offers an enticing combination of lemon oil, exotic melons, honeysuckle, grapefruit, orange marmalade, and white tea all gracefully enveloped in a full-throttle, delectable experience guaranteed to pair perfectly with a wide variety of seafood, spicy Asian cuisine or chevre for Happy Hour. This nectar is a uniquely dazzling, crisp and refreshing experience featuring an array of enticing flavors plus silky rich texture rarely found in any American white wine and normally only associated with the finest aged Alsatian whites wines. A stunning experience to enjoy tonight or anytime over the next 2 – 3 years. 97 points.
Altamura Winery
Altamura Vineyards and Winery, established in 1985 by Frank and Karen Altamura, is the only winery in Wooden Valley, located within the Napa Valley appellation. Napa natives Frank and Karen have a decidedly hands-on approach to every step of the growing and winemaking process. Thus, a natural production limit is established and the wines reflect the Altamura's deep commitment to reflecting the terroir of their Wooden Valley Ranch.
